Nori Akitas

Our Story
My name is Rachel Peeples, DVM and despite growing up with Labradors, I fell in love with Akitas as a teenager. I got my first Akita during my freshman year of veterinary school; and Zen taught me everything I did not know about dog behavior and training. When I graduated from veterinary school, I got my second Akita from a wonderful responsible breeder. Inori was one of those one in a million dogs who never do anything wrong. We did obedience and agility and started exploring rally before she had to retire. In my early years in the breed I was very active in Akita rescue and had numerous fosters and "failed fosters".
I got my first conformation Akita in 2008 - Toki - from ABAR Akitas (Vickie Abraham) and Toyo Akitas (Sherry Bell). He is truly the happiest dog I have ever known and brings joy to all he meets. He finished his AKC championship quickly and won a Bred-by Exhibitor Best in Show along the way. He also earned his IABCA championship going reserve best in show two days in a row. My second conformation Akita came along in 2011 from the same lines as my Inori. Seiya is a much more serious and intense girl. Seiya finished her AKC championship with all major wins. We had an "oops" litter in 2012 between Seiya and Toki that produced 6 stunning puppies. One of them, Sable, stayed with me. She is working on her championship.
My goal as a breeder is to produce sound Akitas in mind and body. I focus on structure, clean proper movement, and Akita type. In addition, I strive to have my Akitas be successful in the performance ring as well as the show ring. But most importantly I want my Akitas to be loved members of their family.
I am located near Savannah, Georgia and my co-breeders are in Mississippi (Toyo Akitas) and Louisiana (ABAR Akitas).
